PrePlan Pro is not a generic asset manager with a fire-department template. Every workflow was designed alongside officers, chiefs, and training officers who run real incidents every week.
NFPA 1620-aligned pre-plans
Every pre-plan is structured around the six NFPA 1620 required elements — property identification, hazards, utility shutoffs, access points, water supply, and construction details. Inspectors, ISO reviewers, and mutual-aid crews see the standard layout they expect on the first load.
Hydrants, FDCs, and standpipes on the drawing
Drop hydrants, fire department connections, and standpipe valves onto the floor plan with a label, exact position, and distance from the address. The engine driver reads the same numbers you record at the hydrant during annual flow tests.
Utility shutoffs — gas, water, electric
Record the location of all three shutoffs as separate fields. The in-app NFPA 1620 checklist only flips green when the full gas + water + electric triple is captured — partial coverage surfaces as n/3 so the gap is visible before the call.
Hazmat markers and high-hazard inventory
Mark chlorine, propane, ammonium nitrate, lithium storage, or any other inventory as a per-marker entry with type, quantity, and location. Markers render directly on the blueprint overlay so the IC sees them at the same zoom as the rest of the pre-plan.
Blueprint upload — .dwg / .dxf / .pdf
Upload your existing CAD, BIM, or scanned drawing once. Markers, hydrants, shutoffs, and notes attach to the drawing they live on, so a layout change in the drawing automatically pulls annotations with it.
NFPA 1620 checklist, derived live
The same six-element checklist the inspector walks lives inside PrePlan Pro as a per-property cover/missing surface. Pull it up on scene during a size-up — green rows are covered, red rows tell the officer exactly what is missing.
Station-binder PDF export
One-click export from the viewer to a black-and-white, station-friendly print view keyed by pre-plan id. Same paper your crews already flip through — just generated from the live pre-plan, so updates land in the binder without a re-typing pass.
Incident logging — full form + quick-log from the truck
Capture call type, units on scene, and field notes in the office with the full incident form, or in 30 seconds from the cab with the quick-log variant. Every entry appends to the property permanent record and shows up on the next size-up.

plan.address- Every pre-plan is keyed by address — the natural identifier dispatch already uses. Address is the only required field on a pre-plan and the join key for everything else.
- Hazards
plan.hazards + hazmatMarkers[]- Free-text hazards plus per-marker inventory with type, quantity, and exact location. Markers overlay the blueprint at the same zoom as the rest of the pre-plan so the IC reads the floor and the inventory in one view.
- Utility shutoffs
gasShutoffLocation / waterShutoffLocation / electricShutoffLocation- Full gas + water + electric triple flips the checklist green. Partial coverage surfaces as n/3 so the gap is visible before the call — not at 2 a.m. when somebody is looking for the water shutoff.
- Access points
notes + hazmatMarkers[].location- PrePlan has no single access-point column yet, so coverage is heuristic — drawn from free-text notes and per-marker locations. A dedicated access-points field is on the roadmap; in the meantime the checklist tells you when evidence is sparse.
- Water supply
plan.hydrants[]- Hydrants render with label, exact position, and distance from the address — the same numbers the engine driver reads aloud during annual flow tests.
- Construction details
plan.occupancy- A free-text occupancy field drives the construction row. Mark it well on the way in and the rest of the pre-plan composes from it; inspectors see what they expect to see at the top of the record.
